Your 2025 IT resolutions just got easier with Atomicwork's January updates

From organizing requests easily to fixing essential workflows, find out how our recent product updates can help you nail your IT resolutions.

Every January, resolutions pop up like clockwork. You set ambitious goals—hit the gym, eat healthier, finally organize that inbox. But by week 2? One by one, they start slipping away.

IT resolutions aren’t much different. You start the year by deciding to automate your workflows, streamline approvals, cut down on manual work, and make collaboration smoother. But as day-to-day firefighting takes over, those plans get pushed aside. Not because they weren’t important but because without the right support, sticking to them is hard.

Before we dive into the updates, we have big news! We’ve raised over $25 million in Series A funding, led by Khosla Ventures and Z47, with participation from Battery Ventures, Peak XV Partners, Neon, and Storm Ventures. A huge thank you to our investors, customers, and partners for believing in our vision. This funding fuels our mission to empower enterprise IT teams with agentic AI—eliminating repetitive tasks so they can focus on driving real business impact.

Also, we’d love to meet you in person! Join us on the road as we connect with CIOs and IT leaders to share insights, discuss challenges with traditional service management, and explore how agentic AI is shaping the future. Register now to be part of the conversation.

Now, let's look at how our January releases with you with those IT resolutions!

Resolution #1: Make AI work better for your organization

A great AI Assistant isn’t just smart—it’s contextual and personalized. To truly improve your employees' self-service experiences, you need AI that understands your organization’s tone, common questions, and terminology.

Solution: Customizable controls for Atom

Admins can now fine-tune Atom’s responses to better fit their organization.

  • Dynamic general responses: You can customize how Atom replies to generic questions like “What can you do?” to make interactions more relevant and engaging.
  • Acronym support: You can define and manage organization-specific acronyms so Atom understands internal terminology and responds accurately.

This ensures that Atom is not another chatbot—it’s a truly tailored Assistant for your employees.

Resolution #2: Bridge the gap between IT and engineering

When IT and engineering teams use separate systems, collaboration slows down. Manually creating and tracking Jira issues takes extra time and effort from your IT agents.

Solution: The Atomicwork-Jira integration for seamless collaboration

Now, agents can create and link Jira issues directly from Atomicwork requests—no need to switch between apps.

How it works:

  • Admins can map Atomicwork workspaces to Jira projects.
  • Agents or admins can create or link Jira issues to requests in a workspace from the Jira project mapped to it.
  • They can also view Jira issue details such as status, priority, and comments directly in Atomicwork’s request details page.

So now, when an employee reports an issue that needs engineering support, IT can instantly raise a Jira ticket—keeping both teams aligned and accelerating resolution times.

Resolution #3: Find and fix workflow errors faster

When a workflow fails on a request, you need clear, actionable insights to troubleshoot quickly. Understanding exactly what went wrong and why ensures you’re not making blind fixes or second-guessing the issue.

Solution: Workflow error logs for requests

Admins can now access detailed logs for every action within a workflow executed in the Request Activities tab, giving complete visibility into workflow execution. They can view:

  • Inputs and outputs: See exactly what data was passed to each action.
  • Third-party API calls: Track how external services were accessed.
  • Retry attempts: View repeated execution attempts for failed actions.

For instance, if a workflow fails when retrieving a user’s details from Azure AD, you’ll see what data was sent, what response came back, and where things went wrong—so you can fix it fast, without the guesswork.

Resolution #4: Bring virtual and physical assets into one view

Managing assets across multiple platforms makes IT’s job 10x harder than it needs to be. When you can view your virtual machines alongside user devices, tracking and resolving all asset-related issues becomes simpler and faster.

Solution: Sync your Azure resources with Atomicwork

Sync your Azure resources like VMs and Action Groups directly into Atomicwork, expanding asset tracking alongside Intune and Kandji integrations as well as native assets.

You can choose which subscriptions and resource types to sync, map Azure attributes to Atomicwork attributes, and even tag assets in real time for better classification and searchability.

For IT teams managing both on-prem and cloud-based workloads, this means greater visibility, and smoother operations with a holistic view into the organization's asset landscape.

Resolution #5: Stay in control of your IT inbox

Long email threads and rigid routing rules can make it hard to stay on top of email requests. You want to enable all your admins to configure email routing rules for their workspace while ensuring agents don't lose key details in endless, cluttered conversations.

Solution: Smarter email handling

  • Cleaner email chains – Forwarded emails now display the original message first, with quoted text neatly tucked away for better clarity.
  • Simplified email routing – Now, workspace admins can also configure email routing rules for request creation without involving org admins.

Resolution #6: Keep requests organized and easy to find

Your request queue needs to keep everything visible especially when teams are juggling multiple conversations and tight deadlines. Finding recent updates, tracking closed requests, and reopening them should be seamless—because the longer it takes agents to act, the longer employees wait.

Solution: Optimized request filtering and management

  • Sort by Latest Reply: You can quickly track the most recent updates by sorting requests based on the latest added comment.
  • Filter requests by completion date: Use the ‘Completed At’ filter to review closed requests efficiently.
  • Smarter request reopening: Resolved requests now always reopen when the requester comments. For other statuses in the Complete stage like Closed or Cancelled, the request will be reopened or a new request created according to the workspace settings.

Resolution #7: Help supervisors stay in the loop

You need supervisors and team leads to stay informed on requests without unnecessary assignments. Keeping them in the loop ensures oversight without extra workload.

Solution: Exclude supervisors from auto-assignment

Now, you can add agents to private groups without including them as part of the round-robin assignment so they can oversee requests and provide inputs when needed.

Other updates to make your IT smarter this year:

  • Raise requests on behalf of others in Slack and Teams – Employees and agents alike can submit requests for colleagues directly from Slack and Teams—no need to visit the Atomicwork portal.
  • Add delays in workflows with the Wait action – Ensure processes run in the right order by adding a time delay before an action executes. For example, delay group assignments until a user is fully synced in the cloud directory, avoiding errors and manual intervention.
  • Fill required attributes before closing a change – Agents now see a pop-up modal listing all mandatory change attributes when closing a change, ensuring everything is properly filled out with no extra steps or delays.
  • See approver details at a glance – The approver dropdown now shows names, avatars, and emails, making it easy to pick the right person without second-guessing.

2025 is all about eliminating friction and streamlining IT operations. And we’ve got your back there! Want to see these features in action? Drop us a message—we’d love to show you how Atomicwork can transform your IT this year.
